1. Diving at Gili Islands
No cars, no motorcycle, the famous Gili Islands; Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air, are free from pollution. At these three islands, coral isles and beautiful marine life are ready to be explored. Turquoise sea, white sandy beach, and tropical weather, the Gilis are definitely your holiday paradise. The islands are only a few kilometres from the northwest coast of Lombok, and can be reached by boat.
2. Visiting Lombok’s Waterfalls
The small island hid many magnificent waterfalls inside its jungles. To find them, you need to follow the professional guides through the lush forest. 3. Reaching the top of Mt Rinjani
Mount Rinjani is the second highest volcano in Indonesia, standing 3,726 meters above sea level. It will take you three days to reach its peak. For surfing, visit Selong Belanak Beach and Mawun Beach. For dramatic ocean view from the top of cliffs, visit Pantai Twlawas, Pantai Bilasayaq, and Semeti Beach. As for a livelier beach, go to the famous Kuta Beach at South Lombok or Senggigi Beach on the west coast.
5. Say hello to Sukarara Village
Sukarara Village is where you can find the art of traditional weaving of Lombok. The women need more than one week, even sometimes months to finish one sarong, called Songket. People wear them during ceremonies and big events. At the village, you can see for yourself how they create the Songket and can purchase it with reasonable price. The village is located at Lombok Tengah, only 20 minutes from the airport.
