Every year, we celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April 2018. It becomes an important reminder for all of us who live on this earth to take care of our environment. After all, there is no planet B. It is also important to remember Balinese main principles of “Tri Hita Karana” which are harmony among people, harmony with nature, and harmony with God. If the people can continue to value green area in Bali, the growth of economy and infrastructure will be a positive experience for everyone.
Being located in heart of lively Seminyak and the main Sunset Road, it is vital for The Trans Resort Bali to maximize its green area in order to create natural air filter to its surrounding. That is why during Earth Day celebration, The Trans Resort Bali joined hands with Rotary Club Bali Seminyak to plant four varieties of trees which are Ancak Tree (Hemandia Pellata) that is commonly used in sacred Balinese ceremonies, the beautiful Jatropha Flower Plant (Jatropha Pandurifolio), the Bread Flower Plant (Vallaris Glabra) that is famous of its fragrant, and Cabbage Palm (Cordyline Australis) that could grow up to 20 meters tall.
“Environmental sustainability is everyone’s concern, and it is the Rotary International slogan this year of making a difference. By planting trees, it helps us to improve quality of life from the benefits of green space.” Said Mr. Alexander Jovanovic – as the General Manager of The Trans Resort Bali and the President of Rotary Club Bali Seminyak 2017 – 2018 before planting the Ancak Tree with his own hands
However, environmental sustainability efforts by Trans Resort Bali are not only initiated during the Earth Day. The resort has its own nursery area which supplies the tropical garden around the resort. Every day, environment management system program is also applied. This includes re-cycle and re-uses wastewater, the use of LED lamps, Low Flow Faucets and Shower Heads, waste management, and actively doing corporate social responsibility program.
The Trans Resort Bali has set a great example of how business and management in Bali should care for the environment. However individual effort also counts. Doing your own waste management, saving energy inside your house, and choosing accommodations that put efforts in environmental sustainability are many great examples in protecting our Earth.
