Seminyak Village in collaboration with Elami and Co, IBUKU, Threads of Life and Make a Scene Bali presents Artisans of Bali, a month long exhibition featuring the best of Bali craftsmanship and artistry. This curated exhibition and workshops are available for all Seminyak Village’s customer from 12 September – 12 October 2017, free of charge.

Right from the entrance, Seminyak Village will have a special artistic display from Make a Scene! The local people might recognize this display because this is inspired by traditional Balinese Wedding decoration. Make a Scene! blends and transform it into contemporary settings. They work with traditional palm leaf craftsmen and their mission is to raise Bali’s skill- based culture through bespoke, eco-friendly scenic installations. This special entrance gate is specially made for Artisans of Bali, and throughout the month you can see how the vibrant green colors of the palm leaves change into beautiful shades of brown.

Upon entering the Centercourt area at Seminyak Village, guest can see the exhibition of extraordinary bamboo furniture from IBUKU by Elora Hardy. We all know IBUKU for their amazing work with Green School, Green Village, Sharma Springs, and Bambu Indah Resort. Their goal is to provide spaces in which people can live in authentic relations with nature. They are the bamboo whisperer and you can see the intricate detail of their products displayed here at Seminyak Village.

Move further inside and we can admire the exhibition from Threads of Life. Threads of Life is a gallery in Ubud that works with over 1200 weavers in 50 cooperatives on 12 islands across Indonesia. Here, they will display the heirloom-quality textiles and baskets made with local materials and natural dyes to an exquisite standard usually seen only in museums. Guest can also see the back strap Loom from Sumba. Moreover, there will be an educational video that shows the process of making each textile, as well as information on how each textile is made.

Another important part of the exhibitions is the weekly creative workshops that will be held every Saturday from 11 AM – 1 PM. Each workshop will be led by each artisan brand and can be enjoyed by the whole family. There will be the Janger Crown Workshop by Make a Scene; Coconut creations and bamboo kite making by Green Camp Bali; Natural dye and Arashi workshop by Threads of Life; and Architectural bamboo model making by IBUKU. This is your chance to immerse yourself in the local culture, interact with incredible craftsmen and learn something new to take home with you.

Catered to enrich your Bali experience, Seminyak Village will display the finest products made in Indonesia, made using the best materials nature has to offer and handmade by local craftsmen. This is in line with Seminyak Village concept, which is to bring the best brands under one roof and to mix Balinese rich culture within a contemporary setting.
