Check out these hot new spots in Bali…
1. ULU CLIFFHOUSE
Where: Jl. Raya Uluwatu Pecatu
A collection of like-minded creatives, artists and guests get together in Bali’s most unreal setting. With direct access to the beach, Ulu Cliffhouse’s clifftop playground showcases a 25-metre infinity pool, a music recording studio, a resort and lifestyle concept store by Kiosk Collective, an art space and world-class food and drinks served from an open-air restaurant and cliff side ocean deck hanging provocatively over the waves. From cutting edge design by award-winning Shed London, food by world-class Chef Diego Muñoz, drinks by Albie Barratt and the Operation Dagger Team as well as the legendary music producer Neil McLellan leading the in-house studio; Ulu Cliffhouse is set to become Bali’s hottest destination.
2. MAKURU BALI
Where: Jalan Mertanadi No. 26 – Kerobokan
We are always surprised when passing through the streets of Bali, because there is always a new place that we miss. Luckily, we saw and visit Makuru Bali just at the right moment, when they just opened at Mertanadi street. The place is small, yet cozy. They designed it really well with minimalist decor, dominant wooden texture, indigo dipped pillows and instagramable plants. But what we are really impressed with is the food. Makuru offers Indonesian menu alongside the Western companion.
3. DON U
Where: Jalan Raya Lungsiakan, Ubud
DON U Bali is a micro 8 seat restaurant located in one of the residential areas of Ubud. They are serving Japanese inspired donburi rice bowl with a twist. Here we use locally sourced seasonal ingredients to make a very high-quality product at a great price. Dine in, take away, and delivery is available. Each order will be cooked live in front of you, so you can see how your food is really made. Their menu is very straightforward, just choose whether you want tuna, chicken, pork belly in your rice bowl – or go with the curry menu, which we love, or the bibimbap. If you are super hungry, opt for the megadon upgrade. Then add the sides and toppings to your liking. You’re good to go!
Where: Jalan Raya Sanggingan, Ubud, Sayan, Gianyar
We heard that there’s a new Korean joint right by Bintang in Ubud, and we’re loving what they’re all about. Roots’ mission is to celebrate sustainable local food in a playful atmosphere which cultivates connection & community. The food is very affordable. And when you order, you will get a generous amount of bite-size Korean goodness. They open from Monday to Sunday, from 11 AM to 9 PM.
