Check out these hot new spots in Bali…
1. Restaurant Nusantara (by Locavore)
Where: Jl. Dewi Sita, Ubud
Phone: +62361 972973
After the success of Locavore as the best restaurant in Indonesia, comes Restaurant Nusantara. They are an authentic Indonesian restaurant, offering a unique version of our country’s rich culinary heritage. Their menu focuses on authentic, original flavours from across the Indonesian archipelago to present a fresh look at this nation’s regional cuisines. Nusantara is Indonesian for ‘archipelago’ — the thousands of diverse and remarkable islands that make up the country of Indonesia. Restaurant Nusantara is a spin-off from Restaurant Locavore. In keeping with our philosophy, our kitchen uses only fresh, seasonal Indonesian ingredients.
2. Ji Terrace By The Sea
Where: Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong, Canggu
Ji terrace by the sea takes you on a journey to the heart of Indonesia, Japan, India, and Thailand with contemporary & playful Japanese & Asian inspired dishes and a 180 degrees undisturbed view over the sparkling Indian Ocean and Canggu Beach. The food served at Ji terrace by the sea is a modern interpretation of ancient Asian cultures. Whereas the already existing JI at Bale Sutra 1706 celebrates classical Japanese cuisine with fusion from other Asian cultures, we detour from this route at JI Terrace by the Sea. Our team of Japanese & Asian-trained chefs, led by Chef Colin Buchan (previously chef of Gordon Ramsay restaurants in London as well as Jason Atherton’s Pollen in Singapore), had fun experimenting with creating dishes that are global, contemporary & playful. The cocktails take a similar inspiration as the food – with Asian infusions of our premium spirits, the cocktails at Ji Terrace by the Sea are 200% seductive in flavours as well as presentation. On the 2nd and 3rd floor, as the DJ plays seductive tunes from sunset to evening, Ji Terrace by the Sea celebrates Bali beach life to the fullest!
3. Kou Dim Sum Parlor
Where: Plaza Renon Ground Floor, Jalan Raya Puputan Renon – Denpasar
Phone: +62361 4749784 / 4745769
We’re so excited when the new Plaza Renon finally opens and one of the must-see restaurant there is Kou Dim Sum. How a Chinese life glows over a good feast! Celebrating meals with family always been one of a ‘sitting down together ritual’ to appreciate beautiful life of what Chinese believes that life radiates happiness through a happy well-filled stomach. They’re claiming to be the new modern chinese restaurant in town and we couldn’t agree more. Their design is so pretty with red bricks, wooden ceilings, chinese scripture on the wall. It’s a modern take of China. They have tropical mocktails, dimsums and all the chinese delicacies. Try them!
4. The Junction House
Where: Jl. Kayu Aya, Seminyak.
Phone: +62361 735610
We all know the wooden house in the corner of Seminyak. However, the place closes down for a few months for some major renovations, and now they’re back. Serving Asian and International menu, the Junction House open for Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner from 7AM-12AM. Step inside and you can choose which area you like… is it the kitchen, the patio, the library, the office and many more. It’s like a real home that you visited for a nice meal with your friends. We love it!
