Bali will host the World Inter-Parliaments Forum on September 20-21, 2016, which will be attended by some 400-500 delegates. Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika on Wednesday enthusiastically welcomed a plan to hold the forum as it would serve as a platform to widely promote tourism in Bali.
The Indonesian Navy has detained two foreign fishing vessels suspected of conducting illegal fishing activities in the Indonesian territory in the northern waters of Raja Ampat, West Papua Province. The two foreign vessels were a Philippine and Vietnamese vessel, on which eight tons of sea cucumbers suspected to be hauled from the Indonesian waters were found. The ship also had no permit to enter the Indonesian waters. Ten crew members, including an Indonesian, of the Philippine vessel were arrested. The police also detained 13 crew members of the Vietnamese vessel.
The Indonesian Tourism Ministry is launching the “Wonderful Morotai Island”program designed to transform the district in Halmahera Island, North Maluku, into a world-class tourist destination. PT Jababeka, an Indonesia-based company primarily engaged in managing and developing real estate, and its partner from Taiwan will develop the tourism area in Morotai Island.
