Celebrating Earth Hour in Bali

Earth Hour is a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is held worldwide annually encouraging individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour, from 8.30 PM to 9.30 PM towards the end of March, as a symbol for their commitment to the planet. It was famously started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then it has grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide. Today, Earth Hour engages a massive mainstream community on a broad range of environmental issues. The one-hour event continues to remain the key driver of the now larger movement.

Over 172 countries and territories are participating in Earth Hour 2017 – and Bali is one of them. Want to see how the businesses are celebrating this campaign?

ARTOTEL will be participating with ‘’60+60’’ as the main theme, keeping the light’s out for 120 minutes. With ’60+60’’ as the main theme, ARTOTEL would like to extend its contribution to the environment for 120 minutes in total during Earth Hour from 08.30 – 10.30 PM (local time). To keep their guest entertained, they will have many fun activities when light’s out such as Light Painting, Face Painting, and live acoustic performance. During 2 hours (120 minutes) the hotel team will be encouraging the guest to paint with glow in the dark ink in canvas at the lobby area or in their face (face painting), along with acoustic performance.

This hotel has something unique to celebrate Earth Hour. They will host Dinner In The Dark at Tepan Noodle Restaurant, starting from 8.30 PM – 9.30 PM. The restaurant will be filled with candle lights, making it a great opportunity for you to wow your loved ones.

This year, St. Regis Bali encourages every guest to join the Earth Hour 2017 by turning off their room lights from 8.30 PM to 9.30 PM on Saturday, 25 March.

They have several activities for Earth Hour 2017. First, you and your kids can join their Earth Hour activity at Tilo Kids Club from 5-8PM. There will be movies on climate change, floating candle basins making class and earth hour procession at TIIGO Restaurant. There, you can get 50% OFF* beverages. They have prepared earthly cocktails for the celebration.
