Diwali, a five-day festival of lights is celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. Also known as The Festival of Lights, it coincides with the Hindu New Year and applauds new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.
The actual day of Diwali is traditionally celebrated on the festival’s third day. One of the most significant commemorations in the Indian community, millions will attend firework displays, prayers and events. Houses will be decorated with candles and colorful lights while families’ feast and share gifts.
