Following on from last year’s event, which featured British drum and bass performer Rudimental, this year’s production will see an acclaimed mystery act fly in to perform on Potato Head Beach Club’s oceanfront stage. As one half of a Grammy-nominated electronic duo from the UK, the mystery guest selector – whose identity will only be disclosed on the night – is no stranger to the Beach Club, returning now for a third set on the Island of the Gods.
Also on the bill are The Cuban Brothers, a UK-based four-piece acclaimed for their high-energy shows and eccentric costumes. Known by their latino alter egos, Miguel Mantovani, Archerio Mantovani, Kengo San, and Domenico, ‘Los Hermanos Cubanos’ (The Cuban Brothers) were formed in the mid-’90s by Mike Keat (Miguel). Their unmistakable performances blend soulful funk sounds with rowdy comedic aspects and b-boy dance moves. Over the course of their 20- year musical career, they’ve sold out shows around the world and shared the stage with icons like The Prodigy, Roy Ayers, Q-Tip, James Brown, Fatboy Slim and De La Soul.
British DJ, producer, and remixer Pete Herbert complete the international line-up. Pete’s musical career began in the early ’90s when he established Atlas Record Shop in London’s Soho. His trademark sets, which blend nostalgic house tracks with disco, Balearic and everything in between, have landed him residencies at London institutions like Fabric and Ministry of Sound as well as regular festival gigs in Croatia, Brazil and across the UK. Together with Dicky Trisco, Pete runs two labels; Maxi Discs, a platform for showcasing like-minded artists; and Paradise Row, dedicated to the duo’s own releases.
The Beach Club’s resident selectors, Paul T, Dean Dixon and Stuart Mclellan, will be providing musical support throughout the night while our secret guest will throw down a special late-night set to ring in the New Year in true Bali style.
