As part of Hyatt Thrive’s eighth “Global Month of Community Service”, Grand Hyatt Bali had the honor of hosting a total of 200 little VIPs from Tulamben Elementary School. Children from 1st to 6th grade were invited on Thursday, 26 April 2018, and welcomed with a World of Hyatt t-shirts & a backpack and free flow of yummy pastries & ice teas.
The children came from an underprivileged background, having to travel by foot for 6km to go to school in rain or shine. They traveled for nearly four hours from their village to Grand Hyatt Bali – the furthest journey for most of the children. The Human Resources team prepared the day with fun games and colorful fingerprint arts, “Tree of Hope”, decorated by the children and staff to commemorate the day. The day was filled with encouragements and cheers for their friends.
The highlight of the event was the singing performance the children have prepared for the staff as a thank you for the fun-filled day. The day concluded with a surprise farewell goodie bag for every child for their long journey home.
