Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran held a portrait for charity’ event to help children for providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene

Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran teams up in support of changing the lives of children across Asia and the Pacific through UNICEF Check Out for Children Challenge 2016

Bali, Indonesia, 6 December 2016 – Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran recently just held their annual fundraiser event ‘A Portrait for Charity’ on Saturday, 3 December 2016 at Bale Banjar Ballroom, Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran. The goal of the event is to raise money that will support UNICEF Check Out for Children Challenge in providing sanitation and clean drinking water to children across Asia and the Pacific.

This Check Out for Children Challenge event is the highlight of UNICEF Check Out for Children program which has been running throughout the year at Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran. All the guests are asked to voluntary donate $1 to their bill at the end of their stay to support Check Out for Children program that is committed to provide all children, everywhere in Asia Pacific with access to clean water and basic sanitation.

Check Out for Children Challenge ‘A Portrait for Charity’ event features a photo hunting, a photography workshop, and pop-up market, where students, professionals, and community join together to capture the unique Jimbaran area through their lenses, to improve their photography skills, to gather and expand link. In collaboration with some of Indonesia’s famous professional photographer as the speakers, Mr. Gabriel Ulung Wicaksono – a well-known photographer which his services have been used by the world’s major hotel and resort brands and Mr. Aji Maharesi – a professional street and food photographer, the workshop will share the photography technics and best practices. All the workshop participants not only paying for admission fee to support the charity event, but also get a workshop certificate and join the photography contest, while enjoying some snacks and gelato ice cream from the pop up booths.

Nearly 80 people participated in this event, with participants that came from local photographer community, students, and professionals. With the couching clinic from Mr. Gabriel Ulung, the participants discovered more about The Basic Landscape and Architectural Lifestyle Photography and How to Tell Story from a Photograph by Mr. Aji Maharesi. The event started early in the morning for photo hunting session to get the best image that they submitted for photography contest. These pictures will be judged by Mr. Ulung and Mr. Maharesi, then the final pictures will be posted through Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran’s Instagram account @LeMeridienBali to get the final winners. The top finalists will be chosen based on the picture that gets the most likes until 31 December 2016.

The fund that is raised from the workshop admission fee and booth space fee, as well as the 1$ donation from in-stay guests will be given to UNICEF Check Out for Children to support UNICEF’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) across Asia and the Pacific. UNICEF is working directly with community-based organizations, communities, families and schools, that will help to ensure every child has access to a clean and secure supply of water and safe sanitation facilities. It works towards making school healthier and more attractive to children by helping to build separate sanitations facilities in schools that will create more effective learners and reduce drop-out rates.
