Music has been at the very forefront of why The Orchard came into existence. Live music is their passion and they want to develop a music scene in Bali that for so long has gone unrecognized and underexposed. With at least 3 music events on per week, The Orchard continuously provides a platform for musicians to gather and express themselves. From folk music on Tuesday’s to soul music on Thursdays, even blues, and rock on Saturdays, they have something for everyone.
Throughout the short years that the venue has opened, they have featured the very best local musicians such as Slank, Endah dan Rhesa, Kikan – Cokelat, Ras Muhamad, Navicula, The Hydrant, etc., but also a number of international artist such as Pete Ray Biggin (Adele, Amy Winehouse, Level 42, Chaka Kahn), Maurice Bobetta Brown (Celo Green), Omar Lye-Fook MBE (Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Ol’ Dirty Bastard), Dan Pearce (Rudimental, Sigma, Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal), Maurice Mobetta Brown (Grammy award winner, Ceelo Green, Aretha Franklin, De la soul, Wyclef, The Roots), and so much more.
They have also held music clinics, high school band competitions, and now we are also supporting new immerging artists who want to release their album or single.
To kick off March, they host an event to support a talented young singer-songwriter by the name of Truedy. She released her very first single entitled “One Thing”, which talks about following your dreams and passion and finding your purpose in life. While singing and playing the piano, Truedy was accompanied by a string section from the Celtic Room Bali and delivered a beautiful performance on The Orchard stage. The night was also supported by two other beautiful Bali-based singer-songwriters named Dee and Reyna.
