Rosso Vivo was one of the first Italian restaurant that grazes the street of Kuta. Opened on June 2006, this restaurant has stood the test of time for 11 years now. Look for the RED restaurant facing the Kuta Beach, and there it is in all its glory. But even iconic restaurant like Rosso Vivo knows when to change things up to keep the guests happy. So this summer, Rosso Vivo introduces their new Executive Chef, Jerome Rezel. Jerome already pulls out exciting new menus that remains true to the essence of Rosso Vivo. Not only the food, they also spruced up their drink list. So exciting!
Rosso Vivo opens early to served up breakfast until pass midnight. Their opening hours start from 7.30 AM – 12.30 PM. The place is quite spacious. You can choose to sit in their indoor area, the outdoor lounge or the pool area. The crowd’s favourite is the outdoor area cos its the perfect spot to see and be seen. It faces the Kuta beach and its busy streets. It has big sunbrellas to give enough coverage from the sun. Meanwhile, they also have an AC room that can be used for meetings or special events too.
As an Italian restaurant by heart, Rosso Vivo still offers that old-school charm, with its crystal glass for your wine, the big plates filled with hearty food and amazing services. Chef Jerome, with his extensive experience bring something new to the table. Rosso Vivo will still have their classic Italian menu, however, there will also be additional “experience” menu that offers fusion and new twist on a classical dish served semi-fine dining style. For instance the Aglio e Olio which has Homemade Beetroot Spaghetti with prawn that chef Jerome made from scratch. It’s so good.
With the presence of the new chef, they launched a new lunch special that is available everyday from 11.30 AM to 4.30 PM. For only IDR 150.000 ++ you can get starter + main or main + dessert, meanwhile you can get all three (Starter + Main + Dessert) for only IDR 200.000 ++. For the starters, there’s an option of Insalata Caprese, Polipo Stufato (braised octopus with pumpkin puree), Tartare di Tonno (tuna with avacado puree and quails egg yolk), Crema di Funghi (mushroom cream soup), Crema di Zucca (pumpkin Cream Soup) or our favourite Trio Bruschetta (tomato and basil, mushroon and aged parmesan, salmon and lemony ricotta). For the mains, they have sandwiches, pasta and pizza. We tried the Pizza ai Funghi that is just excellent. It is thin pizza with wild mushrooms, bechamel sauce, truffle oil and rocket salad for the toppings. It is just to die for. Meanwhile the dessert is not to be missed. They have cannoli and mango pannacotta. But our favourite is definitely the Terra al Cioccolato, which is white chocolate yoghurt with chocolate truffle, dark chocolate soil, white chocolate soil and chocolate sticks with edible flowers. We’ve never seen so many layers of chocolate in one plates, and we love it!
Another reason why we need to be visiting this revamped Rosso Vivo is the entertainment. Happy hours are everyday, just ask for the daily special. They also have the daily entertainment, so whenever you choose to come good times are guaranteed. From Monday to Saturday, you can enjoy live entertainment from Arya and The Friends band, Ochy & The Band, Simple rhythm Band featuring Rachma Neider and Italian DJ Manu-L. It is the perfect place to hang out with your friends or just to have intimate occasions with your loved ones such as pre-dinner drinks, sunset dinner, candlelight treats and romantic rendezvous.
For the drinks, Rosso Vivo offers various options and new menu too. For a really hot day, go and try their Exotic Iced Tea / IDR 32.000++, that mixes the tea with fresh fruits. We love their basil & lychee iced te and their peach & passion iced tea. Their coffee uses the Caffe Vergnano 1882 which is famous as the real Italian espresso. For those seeking to enjoy the Kuta Sunset, try their signature cocktails such as Cucumber Martini and Cherry Bitter Manhattan, for just IDR 99.000++. There’s so many options like Margarita on the rocks, caipirinhas, mojitos, martinis, daiquiri and many more. Meanwhile for the wines, they have options from all over the world stored at their wine cellar. Just ask what will be good to pair with their food.
We have tried some sneak peek or their dinner menu, like this amazing candied lemon that is cooked for 24 hours. But since it will be launched soon, you just have to wait and see our next review. We love this new changes, and now Rosso Vivo is our new favourite spot!
