Review: Sakala Beach Club

There’s always something so appealing about Benoa Bay. The quiet sea, the busy water sports operators and the relaxed ambiance makes it the perfect getaway. Sakala Beach Club sits by the beach and offers an exclusive venue for you and your family to chill and enjoy the beautiful day. We visited them, and here’s what we love about it.

Sakala Beach Club is a part of the Sakala Resort. However, they are located across the street from the resort, right by the beach side. The place is so spacious and elegant. There’s two buildings that functions as the pillars of the area, and the indoor area of the beach club. In the middle, there’s a big pool, with a small pool bar. This unique setting offers uninterrupted views of palm-fringed Tanjung Benoa beach and the Indian Ocean beyond, while boasting its own beachfront infinity pool. With sun loungers on the side, this beach club is a dedicated space for the hotel guests, as well as outside guests who wants to enjoy some time under the sun.

We came there during lunch hours, and already we saw many couples and family lounging around the pool. It looks so good to dip in the cool pool under the Bali heat. We take a seat at the semi-indoor area. The all-day dining menu features a variety of local and international dishes, tapas and beachside snacks. It is easy to pick and choose because the menu itself is a selection of the Chef’s top picks. There’s the Chef’s Small Bites, Chef’s Soupy Selections, Chef’s Pasta, and the Chef’s Best of Bali Selections. It’s one of the finer selections compared to most Beach Clubs who normally has a simpler menu for easy bites by the beach and pool. Well, they do have a menu called Perfect Poolside Selections, with items like Open Steak Sandwich, The Sakala Burger, Sakala Beef Nachos and many others. But they also has lots of other items to choose from. So, we’re excited.

For the small bites, we try the Thai Glazed 24 Hours Bali Pork Belly with roasted pumpkin, red quinoa, green mango salad, crispy fried onion and chilli and tahini wasabi dressing. It’s so juicy and we love the glaze so much. Then we continue with the Pan-Seared Tasmanian Salmon with endives, oyster mushrooms, zucchini veloute, broad beans, avocado, spring onion and house dressing. It’s fresh, it’s light and perfect for lunch cos it’s nutritious and will keep us going through the day. However, we can’t resist trying their Truffle Mac and Cheese. It’s so good and they really elevate a simple mac and cheese into something so silky and luxurious. What a great lunch, indeed.

Sakala Beach Club is definitely going on our favourite list!
