Review: Sava Spa at Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach

Like a breath of fresh air, Sava Spa opens its door at the new Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach. For us, it’s a day of many firsts and we’re loving it!

One of the perks of working for What’s New Bali is we go to try Bali’s hottest spot first. We’re always excited to try something new. But honestly, in Bali, where there’s a million version of everything, we don’t get surprised as much. We have been hearing stories about the spa when we visit Hotel Indigo Bali a while back. Seeing how beautiful and unique Hotel Indigo Bali is, we are very curious to see what will Sava Spa looks like. Well, here it is…

When you first enter the Sava Spa, you have to pass a grand stonewall with interesting carvings on it. This pathway leads to a room that instantly invigorates you. This is the shopping corner where you can get all of the spa amenities and products, as well as other beautiful decors and knick-knacks. Spread beautifully across the display are HARNN’s product. We are familiar with the brand for its natural body care products. However, HARNN also has the Heritage Spa line and they are sold and use exclusively at the Sava Spa. Embracing the Eastern wisdom passed down from generation to generation perfected over thousands of years, HARNN products focus on restoring the natural balance of body and mind. This is the first time we try the HARNN, so great job Sava Spa!

The reception team will explain the treatments that they have while escorting you to the Waiting Lounge. Here the therapist will ask you questions to ensure that you get the best treatment. They will also give you some forms to fill. The thing with this room is how it exudes calmness and serenity. It is dominated by cool earth tones, and this relaxes us already. They have two options for the welcome drinks and it is uniquely served in a woven rantang. So cute. We ended up choosing the refreshing Pandan Wangi Tea.

There are 10 treatment rooms, plus Relaxation Lounge, Reflexology Lounge and Nail Beauty Lounge. Thus, Sava Spa offers various treatments that will pamper you from head to toe. You can try their massage therapy, scrubs, facial and hand and foot care. Sava Spa uses the healing and wellness properties of natural and locally-sourced ingredients – such as island-grown herbs, Balinese rice, fresh sea salt, Jasmine, Rose, Green Tea, Vitamin E, Marshmallow oil, Seaweed and Aloe Vera in addition to the fantastic HARNN products.

That day, we try the Siamese Aromatic Body Massage for 90 minutes. This is the perfect combination of traditional Thai and aromatic oil massages. What’s unique is when we begin the treatment, the therapist explains how the treatments are good for the body and soul. So she started it with a Balinese cleansing ritual. Again this is the first time we ever had this in a spa. Then she continues with the foot ritual before finally starting the massage. She then uses the manual techniques using palm pressure and stretching to ease muscle tension and restore agility. This is what we love about a good Thai massage. Obviously, she knows her technique really well.

Another treatments that you can try when in Sava Spa is the Spa’s Signature Journeys. There are four packages that, calling on years of cultural experiences from around the world, have integrated wellness traditions into pampering rituals. Each package represents characteristics from distinct heritages and delivers absolute indulgence. They have The Journey of Balinese Wisdom; Journey of The Eastern Rose; Journey of The Siamese Purity and Journey of Sava Wanderer.

Another first is the post-treatment. They took us to the relaxation area and they offered various Signature Healing Elixirs. These drinks are unique because they use the elements of rice in it, such as the Red Rice Tea that rejuvenates, the White Rice Tea that is refreshing and the Black Rice Tea that is relaxing. These drinks are then paired with lots of healthy and delicious snacks, again served in a ceramic rantang. This is so Indonesia, yet they present it a very chic way.

The Sava Spa opens every day from 10 AM to 8 PM. In the midst of all other spas in Bali, they surely stood out. Come try it out and experience your many firsts at Sava Spa.
