Review: Sunday Beach & Barbecue Brunch at The Laguna

Sunday just got fun with the new Beach & Barbecue Brunch at The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, Bali. We tried it, and honestly, we don’t want to leave.

When was the last great party you’ve been to? We’re not talking about clubbing or rave party, but an honest, heart-warming birthday party, or a BBQ party with your neighbours, that you couldn’t forget. Well, this is what coming to The Laguna’s new Sunday Beach & Barbecue Brunch feels like to us. It’s just one big party, and we’re all invited to it. Normally, when we go to these fancy or posh brunch, we dress up and we want to get our money’s worth. You come, you eat and you went home a few pounds heavier. Located in Bali’s most exclusive neighbourhood, The Laguna shows that going to brunch is an experience, and they make sure that there are lots of options for all members of the family and that everyone had fun. And fun is exactly what we had.

First of all, what makes the Sunday B&B Brunch at The Laguna unique is its options. They have so many things to experience that they made a map just to make sure you tried everything. As you enter the Arwana Restaurant, you will be greeted by rows of food that’s ready to be devoured. They have the sushi bar, fish carving, seafood on ice and oyster. So good! It’s a whole different party outside. With the beach by our side, everything tasted so good. Go and try their BBQ stations with suckling pig, carving and grill. Their dessert bar is heavenly, and outside there’s a sweet tree with all the treats for your kids. The Laguna spoils you so bad, that even as you are sitting down, the staff will come from time to time and offers you selections of food that’s fresh from the grill or from the kitchen. Where else can you get the food to come to you?

You can choose to sit inside the restaurant or outside by the beach. Well, since it’s named the Beach & Barbecue Brunch than we suggest you take a stroll outside. Knowing how Bali is, the sky will be blue and bright side by side with the gorgeous ocean. You can sit by the beach while listening to live Jazz sessions and enjoy endless delicious food. An enchanting live electro Jazz and Saxophone performance will keep everyone entertained. The children will be occupied by cool activities, such as cupcake decorating and the art of balloon twisting.

When your stomach are full, you can walk around and check out the other stations they have on the brunch map. These stations includes: keen to be green, nitrogen ice cream, shisha, and make your own cocktails. We wouldn’t miss trying to make our own cocktail. The friendly bartender prepared all the ingredients, and gave us the menu for our instruction. From there, it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3. The shisha is also an interesting way to relax after a big meal. There’s several flavours to choose from. So interesting.

The brunch starts from 12-3 PM every Sunday. This gives us plenty of time to take advantage of their other facilities: pool and beach access! This is a great chance to bond with your friends and family after a long week. The ambiance is so laid back and full of smiles, that you would be talking to someone from the next table or someone you meet at the shisha lounge. Everyone are just so happy, and that makes it a great experience. Nope, this is not your typical brunch. It’s The Laguna’s Brunch.
