These pas few months, we’re seeing more and more Indonesian restaurants opening up. This is surely a good sign of people finding a new respect for the richness and diversity that is Indonesian food. They all try to make it on a higher level, with the taste, presentation and trying to create new ways to presents the food. Because, let’s face it, we all know how delicious Indonesian food are. However, they are not always the best in the plates.
The Long Rice table is one of the benchmark of Indonesian food in Bali. Its commitment in highlighting Indonesian food is amazing. They have several times make events that promotes food from a certain regions, and also host sambal making class and many more.
This April, they start a new promotion, Urang Sunda, that highlight the Sundanese Food. However, they are not planning to deconstruct it, or whatever stuff restaurants are doing now. No, The Long Rice Table brings back the authentic Sundanese dishes to their buffet table. The Sundanese cuisine displays the simple and clear taste; ranged from savory salty, fresh sourness, mild sweetness, to hot and spicy. Try to imagine, tahu gejrot, karedok, gepuk, pesmol fish, right down to the desserts, all served in their original West Java flavours. The main attraction of the night is the Chef making different types of sambal for us, starting from Sambal Bajak, Sambal terasi and many more. You can also enjoy the sweet sound of traditional West Java music as the musicians plays Kecapi and flute.
