One out of eight women will develop breast cancer during her life. This disease holds the first place in the list of female cancer in terms of frequency and first cause of female cancer deaths with 11,900 deaths estimated in 2015. Breast cancer can be evaluated in five stages. The earlier it is detected, the patient will have more chances of survival. That is why it is important to create breast cancer awareness, to inform women about the disease and all that goes with it.
To support this campaign, Grand Nikko Bali host an event dedicated to breast cancer awareness by partnering with Mandara Spa, Elemis and Bali Pink Ribbon. The seminar took place on September 22nd at the MPF Boardroom, featuring a sharing session from one of the breast cancer survivor who shared her story and a presentation from Bali’s oncologist Dr. Putu Anda Tusta Adiputra.
Elemis, as along time supporter of this cause, also launched a limited-edition skincare set called The Hero Collection. The Hero Collection contains Pro-Collagen Neck and Decollete Balm, Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, Frangipani Monoi Body Oil, and Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules, nicely packaged in a beautiful pink pouch.
The set is priced at IDR 1.495.000 and 5% of the revenue from the sold items will be donated to the Bali Pink Ribbon Foundation which is a Bali-based non-profit foundation dedicated to providing a breast health education in order to make more women aware of the danger of breast cancer.
The seminar ends with a free breast screening from Prima Medika hospital for all participants who wants to learn how to do self-examination. What a great way to close an event about breast cancer awareness. The event was successful because it allows us to ask different type of questions and see different perspectives behind the disease. It reminds us all to care, to share and to take part in the support of breast cancer awareness.
